Invasion

– Self- Portrait, Stippled Black Pen & Watercolour on Fabriano

This work comments on society and the way in which it conditions individuals to react to the unknown and or become complacent with what it deems to be socially acceptable. Similarly, the alien, “invasion,” and chaos within the city, shown in the foreground, is juxtaposed by the overwhelming calmness presented by the subject which is the work’s central focus. Essentially this work is evoking the aim of challenging societal expectation.
